In 2009, Helping Empower Youth has worked to serve the needs of youth in the City of Atlanta.  2015 we formalized into a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunity for character development, leadership growth and mentorship for black male youth in the city. Today we carry on the mission to inspire, motivate and mobilize young people to take action that changes their world.

Kiosk Support associate

We work hard to inspire, motivate, and mobilize Black youth to be empowered to change their own lives. We operate with the core belief that every child regardless of their zip code should experience opportunities and encouragement. Helping Empower Youth is a 501c3 organization situated on the Westside of Atlanta. This position supports HEY! and the HEY! HYDRATE! program as we build skills in Black male youth to strengthen customer service and business acumen.

Position Description:

HEY! is seeking a HEY! HYDRATE! Kiosk Associate. The kiosk is located in downtown Atlanta near Georgia State University. The Kiosk Associate will be responsible for opening and closing the kiosk during scheduled shifts, managing inventory, serving as a supervisor for youth associates scheduled for shifts, weekly reporting and contribution to team meetings and team building. This person will be responsible for implementing HEY!’s approach towards mobilizing youth participants as well as HEY!’s broader objective of advocating for youth equity. This person will be comfortable working outdoors and interacting with the public.

Pincipal Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing kiosk during operating hours.

  • Supervising youth associates during scheduled shifts.

  • Reconciling cash till and digital currencies.

  • Completing weekly reports.

  • Attending or being accountable for bi-weekly team meetings.

  • Managing inventory.

  • Identifying ways to market kiosk in area.

  • Working with the Communications and Marketing team to develop effective messaging and materials.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year experience in customer service or related opportunities.

  • Experience managing a team or group.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Commitment to progressive causes is a plus.

  • Strong writing and verbal communications skills and close attention to detail.

 

Preferred: A college student (undergraduate or graduate level) with a focus on Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related disciplines.

 

This position reports to: Programs Manager

Requirements: Available for shifts on Tuesdays – Fridays 11am – 5pm

Pay: $15/hour
